The Bough Stool is constructed of solid American hardwood (Ash, Walnut, or White Oak) featuring complex, concealed joints of surprising strength. Designed to work on its own or as an end or side table. Wood is hand-rubbed and finished with Kalon Bare Finish, a natural oil/wax finish painstakingly developed to preserve the delicate and luminous beauty of raw wood.

The Bough Collection is a study in contrast, exploring the opposition between the traditional and the modern, between delicacy and resilience. The visual tension achieved by mixing heavy slabs of wood with slender, sculptural legs draws upon the functional beauty of Shaker furniture and Japan’s Sashimono tradition. Kalon collections are built by small teams of master craftsmen in the United States using a mix of traditional and highly technological methods and a 360 degree approach to sustainability.
